This couldn’t get any easier!
Knit a rectangle, fold as shown in the pictures and sew the 2 seams, and sew the two points of the handle together.
Materials:
3 skeins of Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn in the color Houston Cream or approximately 230 yards of super bulky yarn
Size 15mm needles
Pattern:
Cast on 30 stitches
Work in garter stitch (knit every row), using the following technique: with yarn in front, slip 1st stitch purl wise at the beginning of every row. Work in this manner until piece measures three times the width of your work. For example: if your gauge is the same as mine at 17”, you will work in pattern until piece measures 51”.
Bind Off
Fold the rectangle as follows:
Using the mattress stitch sew the diagonal seams on the front and back of the bag.
Using the whip stitch, sew the two points together to make the handle.
Weave in the tails.
Original pattern is from Tolt Yarn and Wool.

Hi!!! I just want to say thank you so much for posting this pattern, it’s been so much fun to knit!! I do have a question though, I’m using size 10 mm needles and my work is measuring about 14 inches across so far. Since yours measured about 17 inches across, how long do you suggest I make this. Just until I finish out the 3 skeins? Thank you so much!
Hi Mallory. Keep knitting until it measures 17″ or even longer.
