I’m approaching my 3rd trimester! In just another week I’ll be in the home stretch of this pregnancy and I can’t even comprehend that at the moment. With so many house projects (see the bathroom bedroom renovation in the works), work projects, Ryder keeping me busy, and enjoying some summer days this pregnancy is flying by just like I though it would.
I’m soaking up every minute of it the best I can.
Weeks 21-25 symptoms:
-Heartburn is so bad these days. I thought I had pretty much gotten rid of it around 20 or 21 weeks, but it returned full force.
-Freckles and pregnancy mask get more defined every day
-A few more spider veins have popped up on my legs
-I gained a total of 4 lbs the past month bringing my over all total so far to 8 lbs
-Braxton hicks have been quite frequent! I do find that they are worse on the days after I slack on my water intake, but even the days I do well I still have them. They are quite uncomfortable, which I didn’t really have my first pregnancy.
-Lightning crotch! Yes, already. Little Nora was head down at her 20 week ultrasound and this makes me think she stayed in that position. She loves to be as low as she can go, at my pubic mound a lot of the time, and I can feel her little head hitting nerves down there that I only felt when I was in my last few weeks of pregnancy with Ryder. I told the Dr. since I was a bit concerned, but she didn’t seem concerned at all that it’s happening this early
-It’s hard to get comfortable most days. I feel like she is constantly moving and when she gets into certain positions down low it makes it hard to get comfortable while sitting. Especially if I am wearing pants. So most days I wear an elastic waste while I’m home or no pants at all and the seamless underwear which have a lot more stretch
-At the end of most days my lower back is incredibly tight and achey, my feet feel swollen (although, they don’t look swollen) and they throb. I try to prop them up at the end of each day to feel some relief
-My blood pressure has been perfect so far
-The peeing is so frequent I feel like I can only hold in an ounce of water at a time
-My energy is pretty good, I tend to get tired most days by 5pm or so when it’s time to cook dinner so I try to keep the dinners simple, but healthy
-Cravings! fruit (melon, fruit smoothies and plums) cosmic brownies (I know, gross. It will pass), kale on everything, salads with vinaigrette, thankfully the ice-cream craving is beginning to fade, but I could still really go for a soft serve cone with sprinkles. Sourdough bread, fruit snacks, lemon water
-Heavy boobs, they are growing every week!
-Nesting has really kicked in already. Had a yard sale to clear out clutter and make room for baby stuff and just make the house feel cleaner.
I have my glucose test scheduled to be done by 28 weeks AND we have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to make sure baby Nora is growing at a healthy rate due to me having Ulcerative Colitis. I’ll be sure to post the results in my next update around 30 weeks!
