Here I am 6 weeks along!
So here I am, 11 weeks along, with my second baby and I’m pretty sure this is when I started sharing all of my symptoms the last time around. So let’s just get right into it! I hope I can remember everything #Babybrain #symptomnumber1
Weeks 3-11 symptoms:
-First symptom I noticed just like last time around, that good old heartburn, which gave it right away. I had a pretty strong feeling I was pregnant when I felt the heartburn, daily, starting at 3 weeks along.
-Light cramping which has faded
-Slight nausea, barely noticeable at first. it usually gets me in the evening and if I wait too long to eat breakfast.
-Restless legs most nights when I get sleepy. This started to subside around week 10.
-Now this is different this time around, I can not eat eggs! Last pregnancy I was craving them right away and I hadn’t been able to eat eggs before my last pregnancy due to being allergic. I have tried eating them since finding out I was pregnant this time and NO WAY, can’t even force them down.
-Minimal constipation, much better than last pregnancy
-Minimal bloating up until week 10, then I could start to feel my clothes getting just a tad tighter at the waistline.
-Around week 7 I noticed a little bit of hormonal acne. Thankfully this time it is quite minimal and is mainly on my chest area with just some small bumps on my face. Hoping it clears up after week 12 or 13 like last time.
-Up until week 10 or so I was moody as ever! Very irritable. It is beginning to fade, thankfully.
-Fatigue started right away. By 2:00pm or 3:00pm every day I am basically couch ridden, you’ll find me playing “catch” with my 1 year old with my head on a pillow and sprawled on the couch. Thankfully this has started to subside starting in week 11.
-Don’t even get me started on food. I WANT TO SMACK MYSELF sometimes because I just can’t make up my mind on what to eat. Now, as a woman, this is kind of a normal thing when you aren’t even pregnant. So add the food aversions, hormones, and nausea and it’s pretty much impossible to enjoy any type of food.
At this point I CAN’T eat: fish, eggs, most red meat, more than a piece of shrimp, some chicken entrees, and most veggies. I CAN eat: Fruit, sandwiches, soups, pastas, baked potatoes, yogurt, some shell fish and a few other random things here and there.
-Last pregnancy I really only had a few cravings. This time…there are SO MANY. Grapes, apples, watermelon, pb&j, baked potato with ranch dressing and green onion, ice cream (already!), pickles (typical), everything bagels w/cream cheese, grinders, grape leaves, the list goes on. I do give into my cravings in moderation. An ice cream here and there, a bagel for breakfast, and I eat grapes and apples BY THE BAG. So refreshing.
-So far I’ve lost weight, which is most likely just a mix of constipation and water weight. I’ll share my weight and details in my next post in a few weeks. I just bought a new scale so I can be accurate.
I am so excited to be experiencing a summer pregnancy even though I LOVED being pregnant in the fall/winter last time. I am praying my experience is just as great as last time if not better (let’s try to avoid those dreaded kidney stones!).
Speaking of kidney stones, we have no idea what caused mine. This happens to some, so I have decided to stay incredibly hydrated this time. I purchased a large filtered water pitcher and a large 24oz water bottle and I refill it a few times a day, adding lemon when I can to see if it prevents those stones from forming. We shall see.
Little babe was healthy at our first ultrasound and it filled my heart with so much joy to see him or her. I was so relieved.
we will find out in just a couple of months what we are expecting and I am so anxious to find out. I would love to experience a daughter, but if Ryder gets a little brother, oh my goodness, the fun we’ll have. So we shall see.
