Here I am in my second trimester for over two weeks already! And I’m feeling pretty good. Updates and symptoms are below!
Weeks 12-16 Symptoms:
-Heartburn like crazy. Thank God for Tums.
-Cravings! Oh my gosh, so many this pregnancy! It’s terrible. Lately it has been: strawberry shortcake (which I craved last time too), anything with vinegar, sandwiches, salads, avocado, fancy chocolates, strawberry lemonade, lemon water, burgers (which I craved after 30 weeks last time), tortilla chips and salsa, strawberries with cool whip. I’m sure there’s more, it’s been crazy.
-Food aversions: white fish, salmon (but I’ll be giving that another shot tonight since it’s good for baby and me), steak, anything too meaty, even chicken occasionally, eggs unless hard boiled.
-Weight gain was minimal my first trimester at 2 pounds. I’ll be weighed again on the 11th of May which is our next prenatal visit. I’ll be 17 weeks at that appointment.
-I am starting to have the wonderful second trimester skin! Less oil, no acne, more blood flow which is making me have some nice coloring and a little “glow”.
-Pregnancy mask. This is something I got at the end of my last pregnancy. I didn’t mind it at all and still don’t. It’s just darkening of freckles and sun spots on my nose, cheeks and forehead.
-Slight cramping here and there which is just my growing and contracting uterus.
-Lower back pain and sciatic nerve pain…already.
-Constant feeling of having to pee.
-Out of breath, lightheaded if I am dehydrated or don’t eat enough. Also I have to take short showers so I don’t get too light headed.
-I felt baby’s movements in the 15th week! Like little gas bubbles and little pokes.
-I SAW baby’s movements this week, week 16! Crazy, I know. He or she was down low and obviously doing some flips.
-My husband felt some little pokes! How exciting!
I think that is about it for the last 4 weeks or so.
Like I mentioned, I’ll be heading to my 17 week appointment on the 11th and then we find out boy or girl on June 1st! So less than a month! I am so excited.
