Hey Maggie! I found your blog looking for ideas for Christmas gifts and am going to attempt this blanket tonight. (I’ve made scarves successfully so I have hope ?) just curious as I weather you’ve done any blankets with yarn other than the Premier Couture Jazz yarn? I love that chunky look but didn’t realize it’s be so hard to find in store. I was thinking of trying it with the Bernats Mega Bulky which looks more like rope and am hoping it still has that big chunky comfy look. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Kayla. You can always double or triple up on strands to make the yarn appear thicker. I also like to use Premier Yarns Mega Tweed yarn with the strands tripled. You can find this in some stores such as AC Moore.
Hi Maggie! I was wondering if Lion Brand Quickie Yarn would be an acceptable substitute for the Jazz Couture? It’s pretty hard to find. I’m new at arm knitting so I don’t feel comfortable double or tripling the yarn yet 🙂 Thank you!
Hey, how many balls of yarn did you use? I’m pretty sure ’11 skeins’ means ‘balls of yarn’ (at least what I cal l it lol.) so I just want to be clear so I can know how much to buy.

Usually between 8 – 11 skeins (balls) of yarn.
