There is a wall in our kitchen that just seemed to block any light from coming into our kitchen! The room is quite dark as it is being on the back side of the house so we figured why not just cut a huge hole in the wall and let some of that sunlight from the dining room in:)
Here it is.
This project was actually quite cheap. We did it ourselves and only had to purchase some trim, a header to add that extra support since we cut studs, the lights and the brackets for under the counter top. The counter is one we had left over from an island we bought from Christmas Tree Shop and the chairs were given to us. We added a cable jack underneath if we ever want to add a small tv in the kitchen and the curtain was just a couple bucks from the Christmas Tree Shop.
Now my husband was sure to know how to do structural work before cutting any studs out. If you do a project like this without professional help be sure to do your research.

I love how everything goes so nicely together…it really came pretty!
Excellent job! Wish I didn’t have to click on each pic to see a bigger size 🙁
