I’ll be very honest…
Weeks 26- 31 were extremely stressful for me. At my 26 week appointment a growth ultrasound was scheduled for baby Nora to make sure she was growing at a good rate because I have Ulcerative Colitis. Well, after they did the ultrasound at 28 weeks I then got a call the next day from my Dr. explaining she looked a bit small. Under the 10th percentile. So scary to me, I cried my eyes out.
He then scheduled another ultrasound to be done at the hospital by another Ultrasound technician and doctor. I did that the following day and was told she was a little bit small, but that it wasn’t anything too concerning, she may just be a little small like Ryder was when he was born. All of her measurements came out to be between the 10 and 29th percentile. So small, but not too small as my dr. originally thought. Still, I was worried my little girl needed to really start growing quickly to get to where she needs to be when she decided to make her appearance. I was scheduled for a follow up growth ultrasound at the hospital for 31 weeks. I went to this appointment feeling like she had grown, my belly felt bigger, movements felt bigger and I was right. The Dr said she was growing as she should be. She is small, but she is healthy and I may just make smaller babies. I was so relieved. I then went to my 31 week prenatal appointment the next day to have my usual doctor tell me the same thing. She is small, but she is healthy and will probably be another 6lb baby like My son was. So relieved she is growing like she should be. I just need to stock up on the tiny baby clothes 🙂
Onto my symptoms and other updates
Weeks 26-32 Symptoms:
-My heartburn had faded up until 28 weeks and then returned in full force
-At the first growth ultrasound at 28 weeks Nora was in breech position which explains why I was so uncomfortable at that stage of my pregnancy. The morning after that ultrasound I could swear I felt her flip as I woke up. It was the biggest, most uncomfortable movement I had felt so far this pregnancy and it took my breath away. I also started having more pressure in my pelvis and just felt more comfortable over all. Sure enough at my 31 week growth ultrasound she was head down. I was thrilled to hear this!
-I have gained a total of 13 lbs so far
-Sleep has been rough. I’m in bed for 8 hours but get maybe 6-7 hours broken up
-Peeing so frequently! At night it’s 2-3 times and during the day it’s every hour at the least
-Headaches every few days
-Cravings for sweets and sandwiches
-Tons of movement from this little girl
-Nora was practice breathing at each of her ultrasounds which means she is happy and comfortable in there 🙂
-Weak legs and just feeling exhausted most days by 3pm
-Slight constipation
-Back pain is insane. Lower to mid back pain is only relieved by bending to stretch or by sitting on my heating pad
-No stretch marks
-Food aversions include eggs and steak
-Lightning crotch
-Over all just not feeling amazing. I feel good about my size, weight gain, skin, hair, etc., but otherwise I’m just uncomfortable and in pain and I’m looking forward to the end of pregnancy.
No rush baby Nora, stay in there full term please! I am, however, SO excited to meet her and to just get back to feeling like my normal self, wear normal clothes, drink lots of coffee, and just start healing my body from pregnancy.
I’ll be back for my 36 week update!

Thank you so much for sharing your pregnancy with use. I’ve had my two babies and they were tough, but many years ago. I also want to say Thank You for teaching me how to arm knit. My twin brother is living all my blankets I’m making. I’ve also went ahead and bought the biggest Knitting Needles I could find so that I could just use the needles instead of my arms, because I have a rather demanding Maltese and there are times that when she needs to potty, I need to take her right then. I honestly enjoy following you, and all the things you teach us. Thank you for being a Wonderful Person, and I’m pretty sure a Wondetful Mommy. Thanks for sharing with us. I truly appreciate it. I’ve also learned how to finally find you blog as well, so see your even teaching me things on the computer, IPhone, whatever the case may be. Have a good day, and I will be waiting for your next post.
