Obviously not everyone should start their seeds indoors at the same time. We all have different times of “last frost”. I’m on the east coast, so in other words I better get a move on!
I should be planting my seeds indoors as of 6-7 weeks before the last frost date. I’m in “zone 6-7” so my last frost date is March 30-April 30. I’m going to say around April 15th will be the last frost date this year so I should start my seeds indoors around March 4th. (I’m a little behind, but so is the warm weather!)
Plug in your zip code HERE to find your zone.
I’m heading to Home Depot tonight to grab some Starting Medium and I’ll plant my seeds starting this weekend.

Once you know your last expected frost date, your seed package should tell you how many weeks ahead you should start the seeds. Count back from the last expected frost date for each type of seed you are planting and you’ll have a planting schedule.
